The Quality of Virtual Courses in Higher Education: A Systematic Review

Abstract
Faced with a context of technological change and development, ensuring the quality of virtual
courses in technology-mediated higher education is becoming increasingly important. There are
various evaluation criteria or dimensions of the quality of virtual courses but there are some that are the main and essential to determine it, for this reason in this study we seek to identify the main criteria that determine the quality of a virtual course, as objective research; For this purpose, a systematic review is carried out with a sample of 47 articles published from 2017 to 2021 in the Scopus, Doaj, Redalyc and Scielo databases. As a result, the main result was that there are three main criteria or dimensions to evaluate the quality of the virtual courses to which they were called: didactic dimension, design-pedagogical dimension and technical dimension. Finally, it is concluded that, in coherence with the objective that was raised, the main criteria found are decisive for evaluating the quality of virtual courses
